Friends,
As our organization continues to grow, we’re embracing some transitions that reflect our evolving mission and the needs of the LGBTQ community.
After four meaningful years of service, the time has come to bid farewell to the Hawthorne Pride Alliance (HPA) in its current form.
Founded in partnership with the late Mayor Goldberg and later becoming an independent organization, the HPA has remained steadfast in its mission to advocate for and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Hawthorne. Over the years, we’ve grown steadily and proudly carried our message of inclusion and pride.
As you may have noticed, our website is no longer active. This change marks the beginning of a larger transition that has been gradually underway since January.
Per our organizational guidelines, active members are required to reside in the Town of Hawthorne. However, we’ve consistently heard from passionate individuals outside of town eager to contribute. In light of this interest, and in recognition of the increasing need for inclusive, regional support, we have decided to expand our scope. Additionally, some of our current members have relocated out of Hawthorne.
Effective June 1, the Hawthorne Pride Alliance will officially merge into the Pride Alliance of Passaic County (that organization grew from us, and for a little bit of time, both organizations were running concurrently). This newly expanded organization will enable us to serve a broader and more diverse community, strengthen our programming, and deepen our impact across the county. The facebook page, as well as this newsletter, will be officially deleted as of June 1, 2025. We encourage you to follow us on the Pride Alliance of Passaic County. We have a calendar of events planned starting in June! Stay tuned! The website there, is www.pridealliancepassaiccounty.org. The newsletter there is:
We are incredibly proud of all we’ve built together—and even more excited for what lies ahead. Thank you for your continued support and for always standing with Pride.
